Love Thursday: Somebunny Loves Me!

I have a huge sweet tooth, so it’s not surprising that one of my favorite parts of Easter is the candy. More specifically, the candy my mom makes–especially the peanut butter eggs. Yum!

If you’re starting to feel sorry for me because I’m not in the same country code as my mom and therefore can’t enjoy her Easter candy, think again.

My mom continually sends me care packages, but around Easter, one always contains a special treat:

And I swear when I staged this photo, I wasn’t trying to make it look like one bunny was offering his/her love to the other. But it does sort of look that way doesn’t it?

Happy Love Thursday everyone!

When is the last time you received or sent a care package?

P.S. Happiest of birthdays to my mom (yesterday) and my sister-in-law (today)!

Nice looking candy. The bunnies are too cute! I can’t remember the last time I was in a Post Office or UPS office to send a package no matter a care package. Happy Love Thursday back to you! I’m off to snag a chocolate covered pretzel from my wife’s stash.

Enjoy! I *love* chocolate covered pretzels 🙂

What a lovely post, Michelle 🙂 I’m fortunate enough to receive care packages on a weekly basis consisting of my Mom’s yummy home-made dishes.

And what a coincidence that my sis-in-law’s birthday was yesterday too! Happy love Thursday

And also to you 🙂 You are very lucky to receive so many tasty care packages…what a great mom!

I haven’t sent or received a care package in a long time because of the high shipping costs between here and the US. That and the fact that every so often packages get “lost.” One year my parents box of Christmas gifts to my family got “lost” and I don’t think my mom ever got over that! But, she continues to send “care envelopes” full of magazines for the kids and newspaper clippings for me. Love those bunnies!

Care envelopes are just as fun, IMHO 🙂

  4. When Shelley came back to visit she hand delivered a care package. I was overjoyed. ha.

I have a sweet tooth as well so I feel you on the Easter candy!

Ooh hand-delivered care packages are the best–two treats in one!

That’s such a cute photo. For some reason I have never been able to convince my mom, while I’m living overseas, to send me anything food-related. When I lived in Hungary in my early 20s, I used to be in desperate need of chocolate chip cookies. But nada!

She is, in general, however, a GREAT care package sender — and again with the little articles and hometown newspaper, etc.

Those candies look so yummy! My best friend moved to Georgia the first of the year. I miss her like crazy, but we have journals that we write in and then send to each other once a month. She always puts little Georgia things in the boxes for me like seashells and once she sent me cotton. Care packages are more personal than just a simple email!

    Happy Love Thursday!

My last care package was suppose to be hand delivered by the former boss – and good friend – and his girlfriend when their cruise ship made a stop at Cittavecchia. Unfortunately he came down with some sort of tummy problem and they were quarantined for two days until the ship reached Bari. Then they spent a good hour or two of their tour schedule braving the joys of PostItalia – you have to admire anyone who does that – to send me my package via parcel post. It arrived safely: two large jars of Kraft Smooth Peanut Butter!!!!!

Sadly those jars have been long since depleted and I’m back to the occasional Euro5.00 jar at of another brand from the supermarket.

Mom’s candy is always the best. I believe it!!

    Very cool blog, Michelle!
The Easter rabbits really do look like they are communicating…one giviing a gift to the other.
Care packages…I send them to my children and grandchildren on birthdays, Christmas, and sometimes for no particular reason at all. It’s almost as much fun to shop for them, pack them and mail them than it is to receive them. Almost, but not quite!
    Thanks for an enjoyable read!

Your mum has a very pretty hand with the candies! Complimenti to her.

I don’t think I pay five bucks for Calve’ peanut butter… it’s all natural, too. Which is why these American kids want Jif!

Thanks Judith; they’re quite tasty too 🙂 I’ve never had Calve….
