Living a Dog’s Life on Human Chairs

I don’t know what it is about human chairs, but my girls just love sitting in them– especially in the winter when I’ve warmed one up already.

This is Stella, caught keeping my seat warm:

Here the girls discuss whether House is devastatingly handsome, an arsehole, or perhaps both:

And this is just gratuitous Luna, because how cute is she?

Do your furry friends keep your seats warm too?

If they are awake, our two cats usually jump right into our chairs when we get up. One of them jumps on the second we get up to get something off the stove and won’t get off unless we lift him off. I never thought about the warmth being the incentive.

We see lots of cats on car hoods here too…just after the occupants pulled in ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. 02.17.2009

This is not about sitting on chairs, it’s about being a people! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Indeed!

  3. Too cute. That second photo is priceless!

It’s so fun to see them together now since they kind of hated each other at first ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. 02.17.2009

Our cat does…straight on there when we move ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes look like one is getting a ticking off ha ha …

The girls are too funny together….

With our crazy life (moving every two years!) my husband has banned pets from our home. BUT I have ‘adopted’ all the neigborhood cats who have set up on our back patio under the table, on the cushioned chairs. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to toss those cushions come warm weather, but for now me and the kids love watching the gatti from the kitchen door!

Cats can be quite entertaining…lucky you have some neighborhood kitties for company ๐Ÿ™‚

(Just an observation. “Arsehole” instead of “asshole”? You are becoming *very* deeply European, Michelle). ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can recommend a great big bean bag for dogs. My furry friends (or rather, my mum’s) have a 6-foot long beanbag near the window and they love sprawling on it and making themselves comfortable by jumping up and down.

Also, the most michievous one has discovered Physics. He leaps on one end of the bag, which flips the other two off onto the carpet in an ungainly heap. I think he does this for the fun of it – he does that “happy smile” thing afterwards.

I’ve actually used arsehole pre-Europe…it just sounds less crass to my Yankee ears ๐Ÿ˜‰

My girls would *love* beanbags (of course they’d each need one). They have beds now (pillows inside baskets) that they sleep in most of the time, but sometimes they get bored…I think Stella would probably rip the beanbag apart, but it’d still be fun to watch (not to clean up though) ๐Ÿ˜‰

My furry friend not only keeps the seat warm, but she gets on the couch while your on it and kicks you really fast with her rabbit like feet, trying to push you over because SHE doesn’t have enough room on YOUR couch.

    Gotta love those dogs ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ooh she’s a fiesty one! I like that ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. 02.17.2009

Our lab Sophie thinks she’s my human child, and she thinks the world revolves around what I say, so she generally stays out of my seat. But it used to be that is we were in the living room watching a movie everytime my husband got up to get a glass of water or whatnot, she would steal his seat and when he came back to sit she would look at me, and ignore him!

    Hee hee…Mommy’s girl ๐Ÿ™‚

Your doggies are cute! My cat doesn’t keep my chair warm, he keeps my lap warm! Heaven forbid he finds a laptop computer there first! Then I am glared at for a while.

Stella *hates* when I’m working. Even though I put the computer on the table, it still impedes her lap space ๐Ÿ˜‰

Bundnie, our oldest, use to love being up on the couch – and until she had her second back operation, even though she was a dwarf daschund, she could jump up on any couch created. She’s burrow into the pillows or cushions and that would be home. She loved snuggling on the couch even more. Poor old Reese, our second, would only stay up for a few minutes, he never liked being up too high – that was scary, like birds on the back lawn – so he’d sit with Bundnie and I for two or three minutes and demand to be put down. I miss them – and when I see gorgous pictures like your two I start wanting more dogs.

Willym…spring is coming…great time for new puppies! Luna sounds a lot like your Reese. She likes cuddles but in smaller doses. Stella will stay on my lap for *hours* if permitted….

Michelle I love your girls! Thanks for posting pics of them. They are so cute, it just made my day… and the answer is yes, our doggess does keep our seats warm sometimes, especially if she can cuddle with us at the same time.

Aren’t cuddly dogs the best? They definitely do keep me warm ๐Ÿ™‚

My furry friends like to use my warm lap…if they’re in the mood.

These are such sweet pictures, Michelle!

Stella thinks she’s a lap dog, even though she’s a bit too big for that…Luna only laps it when I’m on a chair that comfortably fits the both of us ๐Ÿ™‚

Geisha has one chair in particular she likes getting on and it drives me crazy. i used to put a towel on it but that gold old and dirty looking… as much as i tell her to “get down”, she’ll get right back up on there! lol. Stella is a trip!

Signorina Stella also loves the couch, so I’ve put a blanket on there for her. No, they’re not spoiled at all ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. 02.18.2009

Love your doggie photos. Our beloved mutt used to love to jump up on the sofa, but she’s just too old now. We have a comfy doggie bed for her on the floor instead.

My girls have doggie beds too but they like to mix it up ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope your pooch is doing well!

    hey , cute dogs. btw

    Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. 02.18.2009

Otherguy argues about whose sofa it is, but Tilda finds a new perch every week. OTH, one could tie their legs together and wear them like a miniskirt these polar days.

    Hah! Nice visual ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love your girls. Saci is sharing seats with us all the time.

do yours shed an unGodly amount of hair where ever they venture? ours does. it’s a constant battle!

    Eryn Chandlerโ€™s last blog post..Snappity Doo – Blog Challenge 2 – Fashion

In a word, YES! My girls take turns shedding so it’s nearly a constant throughout the year….

Luna looks a bit like my Max: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fondofelves/216802330/

Oh my goodness, their eyes are exactly the same! What a cutie, that Max ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. 02.22.2009

Your dogs are adorable! Our one dog Karmal is a warm spot thief. If you are sitting on the couch and get up she immediately goes over to steal your warm spot and then gives you puppy dog eyes when you come back to sit down.

Oh that *so* sounds like my Stella….
