Well no, I don’t think this is one of the basic things everyone should know. To be honest (this is top secret!), I’m not a huge fan of all the work you need to do before you get to something good with artichokes. But when someone else makes them, they are rather delicious. I posted a recipe a while back (that I’m too lazy to look up now) for Pasta with artichokes and eggs…*that* is tasty and unique 🙂

P.S Nice artichokes too – I’ve never a seen a ‘wild’ one before!
