love thursday:
strawberry o’ love

I wasn’t going to blog today (already going to break my 3-day-a-week rule!), but I just couldn’t hold in the love any longer.

Remember Tomato Love from a few weeks ago?

Well now we have some strawberry lovin’ goin’ on around here:

Beautiful, heart-shaped strawberry! I’ve been trying to find some strawberries to grow, with no luck. I know you are having a great time with your mom! Happy Love Thursday right back at ya!

I’ve never grown strawberries, but I’d like to…maybe next year I’ll have my very own heart-strawberry :) And yes, GREAT time, thanks!

You really have an eye for finding heart shapes! Funny that you posted a strawberry as our local strawberry patch just put up their strawberries for sale sign yesterday.

      Mmm…eat some for me :)

      That makes me hungry. Gnn.

Here’s a query: do strawberries freeze into what can only be called ’sorbet-fruit’, like grapes, or do they go mushy?

Mikeachim’s last blog post..5 Reasons To Be Elsewhere

Mike, I believe they do indeed go mushy after being frozen, but a great way to freeze them for a dessert, for example, would be to freeze them in a sugary syrup and then serve them over ice cream or cake :)

    19. Taffiny on 16 Jun 2008 at 11:03 pm #

ahh strawberries, have yet to have one sweet to perfection this year, but I know I will taste such delight soon.

      In other fruit news…
left a small peach (or perhaps it was a nectarine) in the car, all day, about 90 degrees. Stuck in traffic, Cheese and I were starving, I got the peach from the backseat, it felt really hot in my hand, I thought it would be gross, but I bit into it, and it was delicious, we fought over it, each insisting on getting every other bite. We held it over a plastic bag to catch any juiciness our mouths missed.
So I see your strawberry love, and match you with my hot peach love.

Taffiny, that is *awesome* fruit news! And I can’t help but noting that you and peaches certainly get along well ;)
