Love Thursday: Fallen Love Apples

I don’t know if our garden neighbors just have too many pomegranates for their own good or what, but this is currently the scene of the crime over that way:

Couldn’t help but notice this little lovely though:

Happy Love Thursday everyone!

Do you love pomegranates as much as I do?

  1. Ciao Michelle! How sweet! I certainly do love pomegranates. I used to eat them for lunch sometimes in middle school to the neverending amazement of classmates who didn’t know what they were. I used to think, “How can you not know what a pomegranate is??!!” 🙂 They are so tasty! I didn’t realize it, but I posted about love today as well!

Haha, lucky little girl you were 🙂

way cute!!!!! how come those are darker than what we see here? temp/soil?
thanks for sharing. i’ll let you know when I do the post on my blog from the trip to the orchards and plant. amazing stuff. i know really do appreciate them.

Actually these are much darker than the ones we usually eat, which are normally yellowish in color–I guess these are just dark because they’re rotting? Don’t really know, but they’re a gorgeous fall color, I have to say 🙂

    Renato loves them!

When they’re perfectly ripe, they’re *so* tasty 🙂

  6. 10.22.2009

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love pomegranites sooooo much! I ate an entire one last night while watching the Philles beat the Dogers. Glad I am in good company.

Haha, must be something about all that gorgeous RED 🙂

love them… used to pick them at my nonno’s in Calabria, then patiently take all the seeds out and place them into a bowl and eat them all up with a spoon. YUM!

Hah, I’m the scooper here, Joe, while P eats them as he cleans…THEN has some of mine with a spoon too.

  8. 10.23.2009

Yes, I do love them & my Lord they are 2 for $6.00 in my market right now. I could scream…scene of the crime is correct. (Lovely photograph though.)

    xo

Yes these poms are often all over the ground as are figs, which are also quite expensive to buy elsewhere; such a shame!

I LOVE pomegranates. It has been a while since I’ve eaten the fruit (tho’ I drink pom. juice often). I remember eating them with salt, as a kid – just yummy!!

They don’t have pom juice here; isn’t that funny with all the poms around?!

  10. I do love pomegranates. my favorite meal is a persian dish called fesenjan. It’s chicken with a gravy of ground walnuts and pomegranate. Yummy!!

I don’t love trying to get pomegranate stains out of clothes.

P’s mom tells me about being careful with pomegranates every year–’tis not an easy stain to remove indeed.

I adore the idea of pomegranates but they are never as tasty and delicious and I want them to be. Which is tragic. Also they taste better when my mom fixes them for me 🙂

    Great shot 🙂

Yes, they are definitely better when someone else digs them out! Thanks for coming by Deidre 🙂
