Love Thursday: Have You Hugged a Goat Today?

I’ve written about finding goat zen in the goat pen before, and although I normally keep the goat-related posts over at Goat Berries, I just had to share some photos from this morning over here for Love Thursday.

Is it normal to tear up with joy when looking at your goats?

Eh, who wants to be normal anyway?

Happy Love Thursday!

P.S. Hug a goat.

Happy goat times, Mimi! Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

I too find it hard to NOT stay in our goats pen without hugging and getting kisses from everyone…we have 85 goats now. at baby time(Mar), we have up to 150, and Baby kisses are the Best…….

Baby kisses *are* the best! Thanks so much for coming by, Kat πŸ™‚

They are so sweet! I could just kiss them. Do they get stinky? I think I have heard that only the males do that because of their male hormones. I do plan on having a goat or two when I retire. Somehow I don’t think I would be very happy getting up in the dark in the winter to milk them before I leave for work at 6:45 am so that plan will have to wait a while, darn it!

Actually goats are clean and not smelly — unless you have a male, as you said πŸ˜‰ Aside from their hormones, they tend to pee on themselves too, which can make for some unpleasant odors. Hope you get to share your life with goats some day — everyone should get the chance IMHO πŸ™‚

  21. 09.14.2010

It is totally normal for me to tear up with joy when I’m spending time with my goats! Your pictures are wonderful.

    Thanks Teresa! I knew you’d understand πŸ™‚

  22. 09.15.2010

Perfectly normal to tear up…I do, and they aren’t even my goats.

Always a pleasure to see the little kids.

    Thank you πŸ™‚

  23. Oh Michelle! They are beautiful!!!!! I need some goats to hug! Can’t wait for the spring!

Jenn, I can’t wait till you have goats to hug πŸ˜€
