Congratulations on your win! Just love those Cameo products!

Thanks Gil, and I’m *so* with you on that 🙂

  2. 12.01.2008

YOU GO GIRL !!! You are one of my roll models. Man talk about keeping your eye on the ball…I love creative people!!!!

Diana, I’m going to need this enthusiasm during the editing process (and really during the “finishing writing process as it’s not complete yet at 50k words). Keep it coming, please 🙂

  3. 12.01.2008

Congratulations! Well deserved. If only we could get a sneak peak…

Beatriz’s last blog post..Ten things: Happiness and thanks.

Thanks Beatriz, and believe me, if it were ready for sneak peeking, I’d be one happy girl….

  5. 12.01.2008

What excellent news! Congratulations! (BTW, that cioccolata calda looks like it might help stoke the editing process… might be worth stocking up, just in case…)

anno’s last blog post..Sunday Scribblings: A Winter Tale

Excellent point Anno. And thank you 🙂

  6. Right on! Congratulations!!! Now, feel free to post reruns for a while… I know about post-novel fatigue.

Editing… urk. Time enough to think about that. And know that Stephen King himself puts his manuscripts away for six months before starting to edit.

paul of the clue-by-four’s last blog post..Men’s Monday: Lucifer and Jehovah

And who am I to question the King?! I actually have quite a bit more to actually write before I even think about editing…but nope, no editing until *at least* January. That’s the rule in this house.

  7. 12.01.2008

Good on you! I can’t imagine trying to write a novel in one month.

Thanks Judith. In many ways, I can’t imagine it either….

  8. 12.01.2008

Congratulations! Good for you — although I’m not surprised! Now give yourself a little (well-deserved) break . . . .

    Kim B.’s last blog post..I really don’t know what to say . . . .

    Break? What’s a break? Thanks Kim 🙂

  13. Michelle, that’s a fantastic achievement, brava! I think I’ll have some to that cioccolata calda too, tell P to make mine with a splash of rum! And put the film on pause, I’ll be right over…

amanda@A Tuscan View…’s last blog post..Something to ponder

Amanda, I have to say that if you like a good horror film and get Sky Cinema, keep an eye out for 1408. I was jumping in my seat!

  14. 12.01.2008

    Congratulations!!! That’s a big accomplishment.

Thanks Mary! It’s big, yes, but *really* finishing the novel will be even bigger…and hopefully it’ll happen before next November!

  15. 12.01.2008

Ditto all the above – way to go! And editing is half the fun…sometimes 🙂

Susan’s last blog post..Back to a cold reality

I think I’ll look forward to editing more when I’ve actually completed the writing part…as it is, there are some rather big holes that need to be filled. But not this week 😉

Congratulations! And you wrote 17 words more than necessary! I probably would have just stopped in the middle of a sentence.

flurrious’s last blog post..Oh No Thank You (Please Provide Your Own Punctuation)

The tricky thing with NaNo’s site is that it counts words differently than Microsoft Word…I actually have about 50,200 on Word, which was *way* too many 😉

  20. 12.01.2008

Complimenti! I’m amazed that anyone can write that much in a month!

Thanks Janie! It’s easy to write that much in a month…it’s much harder to make it all related and coherent 😉

Bravo! A writing mentor of mine stresses the importance of giving yourself permission to write that awful first draft. I raise my glass to subsequent drafts and, hopefully, a chance to read what you’ve written. Congratulations.

Thanks Greg, and your writing mentor is very wise…that awful first draft is what gives us the courage to go forward…and something to work with!

Congratulations from one winner to another! I can finally get back to blogging now. My last few thousand words were choppy and piecemeal, but I love what’s happening in my first 50k, even though it’s nowhere near as refined as it should be. My goal now is to make it into 85,000 written and edited by March. That’s a full-length novel… and even if nothing ever comes of it, I’ll send queries to agents. Just so I can say I tried.

Wanna go for it with me?

    Rebekah’s last blog post..Happy December!

Ooh I love it. I vowed not to look at it for a week after NaNo ended, but then I have to get writing again…and then editing…and March? Doable. I’m in!

I am so ridiculously behind on reading blogs that I could never even imagine catching up at this point…so I’m not going to even try, but I wanted to make sure I popped in to say CONGRATS on winning NaNoWriMo!!!!

    CONGRATS!!!

Thanks, and also to you; I hear you on being behind with reading…maybe around the holidays when I take some time off I can catch up? Boh.

    Dear Michelle,
I found you through my dear friend Tracey Clark and Shutter Sisters. I’m very new to browsing blogs but wanted to let you know that because I keep coming back to yours, I found nanowrimo and participated for the first time because of you. Thank you, though belatedly so, for the inspiration.
    Sincerely,
    Ruth
