Love Thursday: Love on the Rocks

I wasn’t going to post today, but since Judith in Umbria is dying to know what’s happening here in Calabria (see her pleading comment to yesterday’s post here) *and* I was blessed with many visions of love this morning, here I am!

Mom is still with us (woohoo!), and we’ve been spending lots of time talking and shopping and cooking and walking with the pooches.

Oh, and also going to the beach, as we did this morning after getting up bright and early to beat the crowd. That’s a joke, by the way, as many of the Italians around here won’t start really going to the beach until next month at the earliest.

But if you’re interested, come on down! The water’s fabulous!

So Mom and I spent a couple early morning hours relaxing by and in the Ionian Sea and then we headed for cappuccini, a visit with P’s mom, two quick stops to pick up rosemary and olive foccaccia from the bread shop and veal cutlets from my favorite butcher and then we came back to the village for lunch with P.

Such a fabulous day and it’s only 3 p.m. as I type this!

So much love in the air and since today is Love Thursday, I’m sure you know that I happened to find some heart-shaped rocks at the beach to share with you:

Come on Neil Diamond fans (Mom included);
you know you want to sing along!

Happy Love Thursday everyone!

And to think, I’ve been cooped up in an office all day, except for the stinky, sweaty subway ride.
Can you all say envy boys and girls, but in a good way πŸ˜‰

Sorry Joanne; I’ll think of you tomorrow when we’re at the beach again if that helps πŸ˜‰

Much Love on this Love Thursday. Great Rocks.
I don’t understand why they can’t go to the beach now!
It’s funny actually. Thank Goodness when I went to Sicily it was the end of June and I made
my cousin take me to the beach. And then we walked to it every morning for two months!
    Have a fabulous weekend!

Hey Joanne were we on the same train. My subway ride was kinda warm too.

Well in the Italians’ defense, today *is* a weekday and vacation won’t come until August πŸ˜‰ I’m sure more than a handful go to the beach on the weekends, but I avoid it as I prefer a relaxing time πŸ™‚

Love those rocks. It sounds heavenly where you live. One day I will get to Italy. We were going to go two years ago, but our female dog ruptured a disk in her back and had to have surgery…there went our trip to Italy and Ireland too. Yikes.

But we love her so…it was worth the sacrifice.

Wow, what a great day…hope you had many more hours of joy on Love Thursday!

I absolutely love sea glass, stones, and tiles. when we were in Positano I collected so much of it and now display it lovingly around our apartment!

Too bad the water in Pos in May wasn’t as warm as I’m sure it is now…I braved the icy depths anyway πŸ™‚

Now that’s much better. I’d be tempted to come down and test the waters except my entire social life for the year and most of my working life are collifing over the next week.

So, sending wafts of gentle whatever down to Calabria. Eat some peaches.

browsing around your pretty blog and found this post. I collect heart shaped rocks and thought it so nice that someone else notices them as well. Looks like all the pretty ones are in Italy.

I’ve always loved collecting rocks in general, but it’s especially hard to let a heart-shaped one there on the beach….thanks for coming by Sarah!

I knew I wasn’t the only one who looked for heart shaped rocks! I always pick them up when we walk on the beach! See my post: http://livecheapmakeart.blogspot.com/2007/03/vietri-sul-mare-bay-of-salerno.html
