Santa Greeting from Snowy PA

I can’t even put into words how happy I am that we’ve had SNOW since I’ve been in the States. Yay! I love the snow!!!

Today we’re getting another storm, although we’re not expected to get too much snow (three to six inches is child’s play around here). Needless to say, I’m staying put all day long. As I took a break from making cookies with Mom to enjoy a bit of “The Holiday” (cute!) on TBS, I heard some fire engine sirens in the distance.

I peeked out the door to make sure the lights weren’t headed our way for a fire…and what to my wondering eyes should appear? Well, no reindeer, but…

I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday as much as I am!

Yep! Most definitely I’m enjoying the day today -snow and all!

I took the dog for a walk this a.m. (Part of my NEW diet and exercise program, ya know) and we walked a little over a mile, round trip, in the snow and it felt so great, like being a kid again.

About an hour ago, Mandy and I took the kids -and the dog -for a walk up to pick up our mail and back -again, about a mile round trip -and the kids really enjoyed the walk and the snow very much. After we got home, they both got to do a tiny bit of sled riding too -on their saucer sleds -in the side yard.

Great weather for penguins, polar bears and getting ready mentally too for Santa Claus and I’m really happy for you that you’re getting to enjoy all these treats that winter brings to us here in central Pennsylvania!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

I *LOVE* walking in the snow! That brisk air just agrees with me…glad you got to enjoy it too!

  3. Santa totally dissed San Diego. πŸ˜‰

Haha, he’s just way overdressed, that’s all πŸ˜‰

  4. 12.20.2009

We don’t have much of any snow here at all. Not that I want a ton, but a little more would be nice for Christmas.

A little white is always nice…hope some arrives by next week!

Santa and snow absolutely go together. I don’t know how the guys dressing up as Santa here in tropical Kuching can stand it.

I’m definitely enjoying the whole holiday snow thing…holiday rain just isn’t the same πŸ˜‰

I’m glad not to be in PA. I would be outside freezing my butt off, shoveling that darn snow!!
Sicily is having the rainist December since 1985 or so my BIL says!
Enjoy! Eat some cookies for me!

Ugh that rain is just miserable. Hopefully it gets it out of its system before I get back…eating way too many cookies, so some of them are definitely for you πŸ˜‰

Hey, I recognize that firetruck !!!! How cool to see Santa in the middle of a snow fall !!

He scared the beejeebers out of me with the siren…thinking it was yet another winter housefire!

So, how much did you finally end up getting? Yeesh! We got 17 inches and I’m still digging out and parking my car on top of a snow pile/ice shelf. And yay! freezing rain predicted here for Christmas Day.

Oh not very much…six inches maybe? We ended up getting nothing on Christmas.

  10. 12.24.2009

That is such a cool photo! Yay for you to get to experience a snow Pennsylvania. I miss snow! I wish it would snow here just once. Of course if it did, a national disaster would probably be declared. As is, most everyone freaks out when driving in the rain. I guess in order to see snow, I am going to have to fly somewhere.

Haha, well so long as you don’t have anywhere to go, the snow *is* pretty awesome πŸ™‚

We love snow, too, especially because we don’t live in the Northeast anymore and don’t have to worry about shoveling it or cleaning off our cars. There’s something about being part of a snowy day or night that is magical!
Glad you got to have it for the holidays!

Yes, *seeing* the snow is lovely…having to work around it, move it, etc….not so much.
