Congratulations from one winner to another! I can finally get back to blogging now. My last few thousand words were choppy and piecemeal, but I love what’s happening in my first 50k, even though it’s nowhere near as refined as it should be. My goal now is to make it into 85,000 written and edited by March. That’s a full-length novel… and even if nothing ever comes of it, I’ll send queries to agents. Just so I can say I tried.

Bravo! A writing mentor of mine stresses the importance of giving yourself permission to write that awful first draft. I raise my glass to subsequent drafts and, hopefully, a chance to read what you’ve written. Congratulations.
