I MADE A HUGE GINERBREAD HOUSE ONCE WITH ROYAL ICING AND THE RUDDY THING COLLASPED ON ITSELF , LUCKILY NONE OF THE MAIN PEICES BROKE. OUT CAME MY HOT MELT GLUE GUN AND SAVED THE DAY , ALTHOUGH NO ONE WAS ALLOWED TO EAT ANY OF IT i ALSO GLUED ALL THE CANDY ETC.

Thank goodness you saved it…even if no one could eat it

Love it Michelle! Thanks for the tip. We make these every year. I buy a kit at Ikea for 3 euro. We glue them together with melted sugar. It’s a fun tradition. Pretty soon we will be starting with the boxes of chocolates that you open one day at a time. Do you know what I’m talking about? The ones with the windows and a number on each window?

Okay, so I may have to try this, because every time I’ve tried to do a *real* one, I’ve ended up with a lot of pieces and tears. I’m just not a crafty type.

I consider myself reasonably crafty, but gingerbread houses are intimidating….

Anyway, I can almost guarantee no tears in decorating this one. I say almost because I guess you never know what can happen

i remember this and i thoroughtly enjoyed it. thanks for posting it again.
one day i will get around to making a gingerbread house – all decked out. i’ve never done one either but have thought about it many times.
