    Beautiful artichoke. Never seen on like that before.
    What timing! I got my first mosquito bite of the season yesterday. I hate them with a passion!!

    Booooo to the skeeters! This artichoke is truly something special; I’ve never seen one like this before either, actually; a friend of P’s gave him this hybrid to plant this year. Isn’t it adorable?

    Have fun with your mom! Are you going to tell us what to do with an artichoke when you come back? Or am I just supposed to know that?

    Well no, I don’t think this is one of the basic things everyone should know. To be honest (this is top secret!), I’m not a huge fan of all the work you need to do before you get to something good with artichokes. But when someone else makes them, they are rather delicious. I posted a recipe a while back (that I’m too lazy to look up now) for Pasta with artichokes and eggs…*that* is tasty and unique
