They look pretty serious as they stand guard over the eggs.

Actually this photo was taken pre-eggs, but they definitely take their jobs seriously, yes :)

    2. Giulia on 17 Apr 2008 at 8:56 am #

Yes, they DO look serious! But, I’m sure word got out throughout the animal kingdom and they know you are their Snow White! ;)

Well birds don’t often *look* really jovial in general, do they? ;) I need to get me some darker hair to be Snow White…I do have a rather pale complexion though ;)

How sweet…..but, how do know when the chicks are *due*?

The eggs hatch 14-18 days after incubation starts :)

      Cute pigeons!

Thanks, although I like to call them doves ;)

    7. Bipolarlawyercook on 17 Apr 2008 at 4:32 pm #

Very cool! And they way they are standing, they look like an upside down heart!

Yeah, I asked if they could stand like that for Love Thursday…aren’t they wonderful?! Seriously I do love how they’re standing :)

    8. O on 17 Apr 2008 at 5:09 pm #

They are perfect for Love Thurs. and very beautiful. I used to live in Chicago and for 14 years had, presumably, the same two Mourning Doves perched on my back deck railing.
      Thanks for sharing!

Yes they’re ours, and the (pretty pretty) white one is female :)

      Oh, how sweet!

Baby pigeons and doves are very cute. Enjoy.

I’m nervous for any birth, Sara, so I’m just hoping all goes well :)

It’s so funny… growing up in NYC, I hate pigeons with a passion, and yet I LOVE mourning doves, etc. Romeo and Giulietta are just lovely.

I’m not too fond of pigeons either, but these are just too cute :)
