AFTER HAVING PRINTED OUT AND KEPT ON HAND THIS RECIPE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, I FINALLY MADE IT TODAY - I MADE 2 SLIGHT DIFFERENCES - SINCE I ONLY HAD 3/4 CUP OF COCOA LEFT (AND NOT A FULL CUP) I ADDED IN A 1 OUNCE MELTED SQUARE OF SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE AS WELL AS 1 CUP OF ESPRESSO AND 1 CUP OF INSTANT COFFEE - I BAKED IT FOR 40 MINUTES EXACTLY IN A 9 X 13 PAN - THE VERDICT ? EVERYONE LOVED IT - DEFINITELY A KEEPER - THANK YOU MICHELLE.

So happy to hear it, Carmelo! Thanks for letting me know :)

Made this cake this morning. and just had a piece after lunch. I used a springform pan about 10" or a tad more. Of course, it split on top and I had to play with the temps in my Fisher-Price oven but.....WOW, it was moist and a real treat!
Nice recipe and it comes together really quickly.
I used the 1/2 espresso 1/2 hot H2o suggestion.

So happy you enjoyed it, Martha! And remember if you have leftover, freezing works great too!

Yummy Michelle, thanks for sharing.

I often make a cake that looks like this for my kids but I don't put in coffee because I don't know if the kiddos would like that. I'm looking forward to trying it though. I sometimes use a huge hunk of chocolate and melt it down slowly with butter instead of cocoa powder. Thank you Michelle. You've sent me a bit of inspiration today. :)

Julie

Hope you made something fabulous Julie :)

Michelle, I am a bit confused. In the listed ingredients, it calls for 2 cups of coffee, but then in one of your comments you say 1 cup? Is it 2 cups if it is American coffee and 1 cup if it's half espresso, half water?

Giulia's last blog post..Envious

Although we've emailed about this, for the sake of any future readers, it's 2 cups of coffee--I think when I referred to the "cup" I meant to be clear that I meant an American measuring cup size cup and not a teensy espresso cup or a mug or something :)
